Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Air conditioner. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. Materialscientist (talk) 05:14, 8 September 2011 (UTC)
Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Dehumidifier. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Materialscientist, why are you blocking me, your behavior is what turns me off of wikipedia, there's always someone naysaying. I'm not spamming, follow the links to my pages, and realize it's not promotional. Moreover, my previous username follows the EXACT PATTERN as your username. Material : Scientist :: Dehumidifier : Calculator. The pattern is field : role. Clearly, wikipedia isn't trying very hard to enforce consistency, because we were both able to register these usernames. Stop trying to attack me, and clear my name. I'm posting real content, and cleaning the language and content in some terribly incorrect and generally substance-lacking articles.
- Consider it from our side, though - someone comes in with "Dehumidifier Calculator" as a username and their first edit, within minutes of creating the account, is to add multiple links to Dehumidifier (and AC) Calculators? This is a familiar pattern for many spammers, and it may be that you inadvertently followed it - in which case this is a misunderstanding. Being angry about it will do nothing to prove to administrators that this is the case. UltraExactZZ Said ~ Did 12:17, 8 September 2011 (UTC)
- It does appear odd that you've chosen two links designed to promote referral sales and owned by the same person. Are you the owner or is there some other conflict of interest? I'm sure you can be unblocked and the account renamed if you could pledge to avoid any more promotional edits. Kuru (talk) 12:35, 8 September 2011 (UTC)
- Your initial editing pattern, taken together with your chosen username, is clearly spam within wikipedia's definition. I will accept that it was unintentionally so. You will need to choose a username wholly unrelated to the area(s) which you wish to edit, and thereafter be mindful of conflict of interest guidelines. --Anthony Bradbury"talk" 15:49, 8 September 2011 (UTC)
