Cinema Prague

Hi Dan

How'd you go with the Cinema Prague page? I was annoyed they took my entry off - I know it was a stub but still I thought what I did was credible. I noticed it's still not there - any plans to get an entry up? Cangorongo (talk) 20:47, 26 April 2009 (UTC)

Semantics

Hmmm, this presents classification problems, with the choices I see as:

  • Extended version of an extended play. Leave alone: explained in note and in text of Lead.
  • Long play with newly recorded tracks. Put in studio albums table: new release to international market(s): Europe & USA.
  • Compilation album of old tracks re-recorded plus four tracks previously issued. Put in compilations table.

Your point about it being a significantly different release is true. MusicBrainz and ARDb have it as a studio release. So which table should it go into?Shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 08:37, 24 April 2009 (UTC)

Go 4 it.Shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 09:04, 24 April 2009 (UTC)
What does ARDb know? Try: HOL Geffen GEF 25934 as a 10 track LP in 1984.
A German fansite I visited (now dead) had the Dutch alb cover & I think it was different from the US version. In any case Geffen did not promote the alb much especially after Guy turned ill and nasty rumours started.
Just trawled Rate Your Music try Semantics UK/HOL version. Has a different front cover. Uses same catalogue no. as ARDb.
I think that confirms that it was released in US and Europe.Shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 21:57, 26 April 2009 (UTC)
Note European cover is different from US cover (which is virtually same as AUS EP cover). Meanwhile we now have a Cassette! Yes, try Geffen M5G-4028 seen at MusicStack with seller claiming it has a track not on original lp. Same claim made at Alibris UK but tracklisting supplied is same as 10-track album. You might have to add it to ACd list?Shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 09:01, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

While you're doing images did you note the cover for "Reckless" / "White Limbo" European single release? Try CD and LP. See what you've started...Shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 09:12, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

To be C-class (and hence B-class or beyond) it needs a section of prose other than the WP:Lead, so its still Start-class until someone writes a Background section or some such. Now, I wonder who I could find to write a suitable background section?Shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 09:16, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

License tagging for File:HH-what a great night.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:HH-what a great night.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

Orphaned non-free image (File:Horror Movie (Skyhooks).jpg)

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Horror Movie (Skyhooks).jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. ww2censor (talk) 18:50, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Horror Movie (Skyhooks).jpg

Thank you for uploading File:Horror Movie (Skyhooks).jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. ww2censor (talk) 18:51, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

ACd sources & dashes

Hopefully I've clarified these at the FLC. I suggest you make a copy of the justifications for HowlSpace, ARDb and MusicBrainz: we'll probably need one or more of them the next time we get the perennial 'what makes this reliable?'Shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 07:15, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

Painters and Dockers first?

I see the worthy contestants for our next collaboration are currently auditioning. I've finished my run through of ARIA Awards by year from 1989 to 2000 (skipped 1997—it was already there). Meanwhile the ARIA Hall of Fame ceremony is not due until August (moved from May-ish). So I've already jumped in on Kiss My Art and beefed up the Lead and added a bit of background. More work needs doing there. Then I expect to work on the main article, Painters and Dockers which has a woeful one sentence Lead and some dodgy looking time-line section which is virtually a List. Talking about refs: "McF" can be found at #556. After all that I expect we'll tackle the first contestant on the list?Shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 06:30, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

Do you have Kiss My Art cover art? As you can see I've tweaked that article more and now moved into P&D proper. I'll let you have a turn at P&D for a while.Shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 06:39, 9 June 2009 (UTC)
The claim re: P&D (through Dock?) not returning owed monies is problematical without a reliable source, hence I deleted it. Another problem (not yet deleted) is the claim of a 2009 tour/album which remains unverified.Shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 10:45, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

Clearly it is time for you to make some articles on stamps, possibly a run of stamps issued by Australia Post on Australian songs/artists? Grace Knight

Help needed with Grace Knight (sandbox copy). Specifically, needs:

  1. birth year (full details would be better) and place,
  2. full name: I suspect middle name starts with V (not sure, see below),
  3. more details on work before Eurogliders and after,
  4. three marriages? I know Knight married Lynch but who were the other two?
  5. children? I've read an article where she states she is a mother,
    1. found a son called Jackie in a blog: supposedly recorded a duet with his mother. However, I need a better source,
    2. "I have only one child and his birth was the most powerful, beautiful, experience of my whole life." at Bare witness
  6. songwriter? I've got a few co-writes but did Knight compose any on her own?

I'm still checking details on: #Knight wrote poems including a book of them for children,

    1. included book details,
    2. a second book is by Grace V. Knight (same person?)
  1. organising a protest (nude women spelling out "No War") against Howard and the proposed invasion of Iraq.

I'd like to clarify the information above before I post it to mainspace.Shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 13:11, 27 June 2009 (UTC)

Additionally:

  1. sister's name? (according to some reports she introduced Lynch to Grace)

Updated.Shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 23:19, 28 June 2009 (UTC)

Of her solo stuff, Zeitgeist contained originals including six co-writes with various people. APRA search engine doesn't deliver on six of 12 titles (more than 250 returns = no show). I've tried ASCAP and BMI but they don't do much for Euro or GK.Shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 09:43, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
Getting close. I'd really like to get a birth year. Likely to be c. 1960–1963.Shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 10:53, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
Going to post article without birth year etc. Rest can be factored in, if ever we find it.Shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 06:39, 30 June 2009 (UTC)
