Concluding the community consensus
[edit]Hi Czello. How are you? Since I'm one of the involved user user and I started voting (the sub-section), would you please conclude and close Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Professional wrestling#Style guide change: first and last champions? It is almost one month since the last vote and there is no new opinion. --Mann Mann (talk) 04:47, 22 December 2024 (UTC)
- Done! — Czello (music) 09:31, 22 December 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Please can I have your input on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Thanksgiving Eve Dynamite (2023)? Thanks. Lemonademan22 (talk) 00:02, 23 December 2024 (UTC)
Style
[edit]WP:MOS "Where more than one style or format is acceptable under the MoS, one should be used consistently within an article and should not be changed without good reason. Edit warring over stylistic choices is unacceptable.
Needlessly changing the indention of an article without so much as an edit summary to explain why is not a good faith edit. The Wikipedia style guidelines clearly warns against changing the style for no reason.
Nonetheless to show my good faith I have followed your request to manually restore the indentation instead of wholesale reverting the bad faith edit. Wikipedia and wiki in general was always intended to be human readable markup, less ugly and cumbersome than alternatives such as HTML. Stripping out spaces is pointless and anathema to the spirit of wiki. (Some people have strange ideas about efficiency, thinking that removing spaces is somehow a benefit, unfortunately they usually don't understand enough to ask sensible questions and should start by reading WP:DWAP.) -- 109.77.199.59 (talk) 20:04, 24 December 2024 (UTC)

December 2024
[edit]Hey Czello. Hope you're doing well as the year winds down. Can you please warn User:S7Nightmare? He has been making very unconstructive edits on Pentagón Jr. and has been extremely hostile in the edit history and on his talk page for example here: [1] [2] [3]. If you can warn him that'd be brilliant thank you. In the meantime I have reported to him to Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism but I am yet to hear back from anybody but sometimes they want the person in question to be warned first so if you could do that that would be great. Lemonademan22 (talk) 06:19, 31 December 2024 (UTC)
- No worries, done. By the way, WP:AIV isn't the best place for him as that's for unambiguous vandalism. WP:ANI would be better. Hopefully after the warning he'll calm down, though. — Czello (music) 08:23, 31 December 2024 (UTC)
- I appreciate that, thank you. Lemonademan22 (talk) 17:22, 31 December 2024 (UTC)
Snp
[edit]please do not remove factual content. Although there is criminality surrounding many global political parties, these should also be reported on wiki pages. Removing factual content constitutes vandalism. If you continue i will seek to have you barred from editing James01361 (talk) 10:09, 5 January 2025 (UTC)
- Please read WP:VANDALISM to learn what it actually is. Also read the edit summary I provided, which explains why I removed it. Discuss the issue on the talk page, please. — Czello (music) 10:18, 5 January 2025 (UTC)
- @James01361: Also, given the quality of some of your past edits to the SNP page, I don't think you're in a position to warn others about vandalism. The majority of your edits have a shown a clear agenda and have been reverting, so I advise you be more careful before you find yourself blocked. — Czello (music) 10:21, 5 January 2025 (UTC)
Heavy Metal
[edit]Normally when there's a problematic text, it's left out pending discussion, not the other way around. It should be obvious why: imagine the text were about a public figure accused of some horrid crime.
The criterion for the inclusion of any text is not the mere existence of a (potentially cherry-picked) source, but that the text reflects the great majority of scholarly sources.
Please demonstrate your good faith by reverting your edit until the issue is resolved, and refrain from accusing people of edit-warring (especially as I've made one revert to your two). Curly "JFC" Turkey 🍁 ¡gobble! 09:47, 6 January 2025 (UTC)
- The example you gave in the first sentence is covered by WP:BLPRESTORE – you'd be right it's correct to remove it there.
- For non-BLP issues, we follow WP:QUO and WP:BRD. If you think there's an issue with the source, please start a talk page discussion. — Czello (music) 09:52, 6 January 2025 (UTC)
- For disputed wording, not for disputed facts. I've opened a discussion, and quoted sources that contradict the sources attached to the text. We cannot keep text that contradicts sources, which this text does. Please revert—we're not disputing whose wording is best. I can't imagine the motivation behind protecting this counterfactual piece of text. Curly "JFC" Turkey 🍁 ¡gobble! 10:18, 6 January 2025 (UTC)
- I've responded there. There is an entire section that refers to metal being mainstream in the 80s. — Czello (music) 10:26, 6 January 2025 (UTC)
- Also—seriously?: "This is your opinion vs sources. We don't make our own interpretation or insert our opinions, that's WP:OR."
- There are multiple sources already cited in the article that say exactly what I did. Accusations of WP:OR and of editwarring? Maybe dial it back a bit? Curly "JFC" Turkey 🍁 ¡gobble! 10:26, 6 January 2025 (UTC)
- Take it to the talk page, please. You're going to have to be clearer about the sources you're referring to. — Czello (music) 10:27, 6 January 2025 (UTC)
- You're making this sound very one-way, coming dangerously close to an WP:OWN attitude. Curly "JFC" Turkey 🍁 ¡gobble! 10:50, 6 January 2025 (UTC)
- This is a very silly suggestion, please just follow WP:BRD. — Czello (music) 11:00, 6 January 2025 (UTC)
