Request reason:

I've recently moved and (probably) have a different IP address, which may've been used maliciously by others. I've never knowingly done anything malicious, inappropriate, or even impolite ;-)

I just hope the block isn't against the Comcast network, or subnetwork, itself ;-)

Thank you

Decline reason:

Procedural decline only. You forgot to tell us your IP address so we can't investigate your claim. You can find this using WhatIsMyIP. If you don't wish to provide this publicly, you may use WP:UTRS to provide the IP address privately. Yamla (talk) 22:55, 9 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Response to unblock decline

Request reason:

Ok... I didn't put the IP address in my talk page. I thought it unnecessary, that the user name would be sufficient. It wasn't. I hesitate to put my IP address here, so I thought I would use the WP:UTRS form, which would keep the confidential information confidential.

Unfortunately, the form won't submit, asserting that my IPv4 address is not blocked.

However, the blocked users special page indicates that it is not my account, but a range of IPv6 addresses that are blocked:

(Redacted)

And my IPv6 (Redacted) is in that range.

So, how do I request an unblock, without publicly providing information I feel is confidential, without using the form that won't submit?

Thank you

  • For future reference, if you go to the "preferences" link at the top of the page you will be able to set an email address, and then if you ever need to provide someone with information in confidence, without making it publicly visible, you will be able to do so by Wikipedia's email forwarding service. The email you send will give the recipient your user name but not your email address. JamesBWatson (talk) 14:53, 10 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
