Adoption Request

Hi! I saw you between the adopters & I wondered if you could adopt me.I already made some edits, and made myself a Babel userbox, but I could use some help.I would be grateful if I knew how to contribute in a project and how to become a experienced user.Meap (talk) 18:19, 21 March 2013 (UTC)

Yes of course. To join a project just add your name to the list of members on the project page. There are no closed shops here. Let me know how I can help.--Charles (talk) 23:21, 21 March 2013 (UTC)

Friendly chat

Hello! Another editor brought up a concern about some choice words you used earlier this month. I'd just like to take the time to ask that you refrain from using offensive language in the future; as you noted, this is the world's leading encyclopedia, and as such it is no place for insults or degrading comments. I appreciate the rest of your edits and your desire to mentor new editors - just please try to maintain a level head from now on.

Regards, m.o.p 23:12, 21 March 2013 (UTC)

What are you, the Wiki thought police? I find your implication that I am not level headed offensive. Some of us just like to call a spade a spade.--Charles (talk) 23:26, 21 March 2013 (UTC)
I'm the guy who knows that calling a spade a spade, while sometimes tantalizing, is not the best course of action, especially in an academic environment. Feel free to comment on content, not editors. m.o.p 23:43, 21 March 2013 (UTC)

Hi! Thanks for that welcoming message.{{Help me}} I would like to know how to reply to peoples messages, if it possible. If you are not busy that info would be GREAT to know. --KA~~ 16:17, 27 March 2013 (UTC)

Just post under them wherever they posted, and then leave a {{talkback}} on their talkpage! gwickwiretalkediting 17:44, 27 March 2013 (UTC)

Bus Routes

Just thought you would like to know that there has been a lot more lists which have been nominated for deletion which can be viewed here. Wilbysuffolk (Talk to me!) 12:35, 23 March 2013 (UTC)

You should not be telling me this. It is canvassing which can get you in trouble. Most of them are on my watchlist anyway.
I wish people would not make these mass nominations. It overloads the deletion system and pisses people off. Let them go gradually as problems arise with particular articles.--Charles (talk) 15:19, 23 March 2013 (UTC)

Fakenham

Charles, I am not vandalising the site, just adding an attraction which locals and visitors to Fakenham might be interested in. I have been organising the Fakenham Craft Market for 8 years.Craftypolly (talk) 09:29, 24 March 2013 (UTC)

Wikipedia should not be used for advertising and promotion. We are very strict about this.--Charles (talk) 19:40, 24 March 2013 (UTC)

Bus route deletions

Hey. As you've recently started a AfD dealing with the deletion of bus routes in the UK I'd like to point you towards a new section at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Buses#Mass deletion of lists of bus routes in xxx that I'd appreciate you taking a look at. My gut feeling is that there's just too many of these open for now.

I imagine that you share this concern! My only reason for sticking this note here is that I said I'd let everyone know who nominated a list article in the last month of so - I wouldn't want to be be thought of as, err, canvassing or being biased or anything :-) No need to reply at all to this! Blue Square Thing (talk) 10:46, 24 March 2013 (UTC)

I have asked the editors responsible for most of them to slow down but they seem to have the bit between their teeth.--Charles (talk) 19:38, 24 March 2013 (UTC)
Yeah, I know! Blue Square Thing (talk) 20:00, 24 March 2013 (UTC)
