ArbCom 2017 election voter message

[edit]

Hello, Brooks patty. Voting in the 2017 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 10 December. All users who registered an account before Saturday, 28 October 2017, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Wednesday, 1 November 2017 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2017 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 3 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Daniela Schiller, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Elizabeth Phelps (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:16, 25 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Tense for Katherine Nelson

[edit]

You have twice now changed the "is" in the first sentence for Katherine Nelson to "was". We only use past tense like that for dead people, and we only list people as dead when we have a reliable published source for the death. So unless you have such a source and add it to the article, please stop changing the tense of this sentence. —David Eppstein (talk) 19:19, 15 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Katherine Nelson passed away on August 10, 2018. I have not found an obituary but have notification from her family sent to the faculty of The Graduate Center, CUNY, to which I belong. Is it not possible to update her status before an obituary is printed? Brooks patty (talk) 01:22, 16 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Kj cheetham. I wanted to let you know that one or more external links you added to Frances Culbertson have been removed because they seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. Suggestions

[edit]

Hi there, I believe you are leading some kind of wiki editing course? I review new articles and noticed quite a few psycologist articles recently being created, which is excellent work! They look like they follow some kind of similar template to each other, so I was wondering if I could make the very minor suggestion of correcting "Representative Publications" to "Representative publications", as section headings should be in sentance case, as per MOS:HEADINGS. Saves me a job changing them myself then. :) Also you may be interested in using the Template:Google Scholar id rather than direct Google Scholar links, to improve consistency. Keep up the good work though! -Kj cheetham (talk) 09:11, 10 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Reliable sources

[edit]

Please stop using "prabook" as a source in biographies, as you just did again at J. Gayle Beck. I've removed this from your articles at least five times now, previously at Patricia H. Miller, Rhoda Unger, Mary E. Reuder‎ and Oliva Espín. This site is user-editable with no editorial controls, and the material is scraped from a variety of sources, sometimes Wikipedia itself. Previous discussions at WP:RSN have concluded that it should not be used. If you still have questions, please let me know. Kuru (talk) 12:50, 17 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
