Corn Dog Debate

[edit]

A corn dog is usually a hot dog sausage coated in a thick layer of cornmeal batter — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.89.214.57 (talk) 03:57, 1 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I don't really see the purpose of posting this on my talk page. If you want to discuss Corn Dogs, there are already posts on your talk page, or you could post on the article's talk page. br100x (talk) 04:41, 1 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
We are way past the corn dog article now. If i would post a universal cure for cancer you would delete it instantly. You are a danger for humanity. You'd rather have order than truth. 174.89.214.57 (talk) 05:22, 1 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I do not have anything against you, nor do I want to undo any of your edits. I would love it if you posted edits, just in this particular instance, I didn't believe the article needed that to improve clarity. I would love to see you continue to edit productively and make Wikipedia a better place. Also, thanks for using the proper formatting. br100x (talk) 06:01, 1 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I got this site wrong i just read about the no original research (no cancer cure even if it works unless you have massive proof). I read the others rules also and i dont think i could do a positive edit. The only thing i could do is by being pedantic and blocking every new edit. Its almost impossible to do a contribution (leeching) without breaking one or more rules. 174.89.214.57 (talk) 08:08, 1 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry to hear that, but as you probably know, Wikipedia is widely regarded as a reliable source for information. Those rules are in place to protect from potentially incorrect and misleading material, which would cause Wikipedia to lose some of its reliability. However, there are many other things you could do to help Wikipedia, such as fixing grammar mistakes, rewording hard-to-understand sentences, or adding images. Many pages are tagged for poor grammar or spelling, which puts them in a category so people can find and fix them. By fixing grammar and the like, you may get more of a feel for Wikipedia's policies and why they are in place. :) br100x (talk) 22:23, 1 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

New Page Patrol

[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your edits. I appreciate you wanting to jump right in and patrol pages but with only just over 100 edits to mainspace, you almost certainly do not have enough experience yet to be patrolling new pages. Please read WP:NPP  and WP:Deletion and if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask me on my talk page. Thanks. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 02:26, 4 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Kudpung, thanks for letting me know. I was poking around in the counter-vandalism guides when I stumbled upon the WP:NPP page. I saw how much backlog there was and thought I could help out. I read through WP:NPP and WP:Deletion, but I realize now that patrolling new pages requires a deeper knowledge of Wikipedia's guidelines and policies, which I have still to acquire. I guess I'll just stick to recent change patrolling for now. About how many edits would you suggest I have before venturing back into new page patrolling? br100x (talk) 03:11, 4 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Generally , after reading the pages I linked to, at least 500 non automated edits to mainspace that should include significant recent changes patrolling and and counter vandalism with reports to WP:AIV. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 03:42, 4 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, thanks! br100x (talk) 03:58, 4 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Friendly tip.

[edit]

I think you cast your vote on the wrong discussion page, friend. The debate is at http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Dogecoin, not the article's talk page. People make that mistake a lot. [citation needed] 01:49, 20 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for telling me! No wonder it was mostly IPs protesting the deletion on the talk page. br100x (talk) 01:57, 20 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
