I have the deepest respect for you.

[edit]

I wasn't being sarcastic at the time — see, I had written that comment before you had removed that statement. I don't care if you couldn't write that, they were really comprehensive sites. As the title says, I really do respect you; it's nice to have someone involved in Fire Emblem with you. Look, I have no knowledge of the Japanese FEs, and User: Tedius Zanarukando is ignoring me, so you're the only editor who knows this sort of stuff. So, thanks Aveyn. Ashnard Talk Contribs 06:29, 17 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wow, I feel inadequate posting short messages. I'll remove the FE Online reference and add the other one; I'll also remove the Falchion statement. My major weakness is that I haven't played the Japanese games, so I can't verify whether they're true or not. The external link page isn't perfect (they even misspelled Akaneia) — once you find anything else or you create something else more relaible, I'll replace it with that. What would I do without you? Ashnard Talk Contribs 14:47, 17 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You know that site you had shown me? Is it part of the Serenes Forest website? I kneed to know beacuse I have to label it on the reference tag. Thank you. Ashnard Talk Contribs 15:08, 17 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Furthermore, I've heard something about FE trading cards. I know that you know more about it than me, so maybe you could write a small passage about it in the "media" (can be renamed) and then I can reference it? Ashnard Talk Contribs 16:50, 17 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Really, for the card game, just basically have a couple of sentences having a brief description of what it is and whether ot was released in the West or not please. You don't have to. If you do, please send me a link and I'll reference it. As for the Thracia776 page, I'll read it now then post some feedback later. Ashnard Talk Contribs 17:53, 17 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I've just realised that you've alraedy done it. Thanks. If you have a source, please send it on my talk page. Thanks. Ashnard Talk Contribs 17:57, 17 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I'm really not great at giving feedback. I'll try to keep things constructive so I can be helpful. A few things:
  • Maybe you could elaborate on the story more — who's the main villain, which characters have a central role; how does Leaf compare to the other Lords.
  • Maybe it could be arranged differently; you could have amalgamated some sections like having "unit statistics and skills" instead of having Constitution, Mobility and Fatigue separate.
  • Maybe mention a bit about graphical style
  • Maybe just explaining things a bit more; one line reads "Manster castle has an important role in the game" yet the article doesn't inform the reader of what importance or what the castle is.
  • Just check over little phrases that may not make sense, although I think you've mentioned that yourself.
  • Put things in to context more; mention and explain more characters and settings.

Otherwise, a good read. Keep at it. I've looked over bits of the site and I think it's fantastic. Seriously, other sites don't even really have this sort of exclusive information — they just use the site for the forum. It's got the right basis to make it a really decent FE resource. Ashnard Talk Contribs 19:24, 17 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Just to let you know.

[edit]

I don't want to make you feel obligated or anything, but I'm just letting you know that I'm currently working on Fire Emblem (Game Boy Advance) — it's in a bit of a mess. I'm trying to get it to GA. I'm not asking you to help me but just alerting you in case you wan to contribute. Thanks. Ashnard Talk Contribs 11:46, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Right, the article's pretty much ready for GA I think. Please can you look over it and maybe edit out any mistakes that I've made. Also, if you can find any more reliable sources that I can use for the story or alternative modes, please alert me . Thanks. Ashnard Talk Contribs 08:23, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Right, I'm nominating it now — they provide time for you to edit ou errors. Ashnard Talk Contribs 18:51, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Goddess of Dawn :response.

[edit]

There's not much else you can do I think (although I'm not sure). You can try personally addressing the situation to the each IP's talk page. You can also leave an invisible message by the Rajaion section. Use: <!-- -->(add message about Rajaion's death and why they shouldn't enter rubish in). The editors will readers this and be peturbed before editing that nonsense in . Ashnard Talk Contribs 22:31, 26 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

FE7 and the dragon siblings

[edit]

I was referred to you by User:Ashnard to discuss the issue of the dragon siblings on the FE7 character page. I realized, though maybe i missed it, that the game never actually states that Nergal is the BIOLOGICAL father of Nils and Ninian. In my opinion I think they are (though as far as fetishes go, doing the dirty dance with an 11-foot tall ice breathing lizard sounds like Nergal is near the top of the heap). But opinion is not what wikipedia is about. So getting to the point, shouldn't thier biographies state that Nergal had some sort of patriarchal or caretaking relationship with them instead of saying he was thier father? --Dekubobo 14:37, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Favour?

[edit]

Please will you do me a big favour? I was looking at the Marth article and realised that it mentioned nothing of his personality or appearance. Could you please write a short, one-paragraph section mentioning his personality and appearance? I'd do it myself, but I don't know too much about him. Thanks. Ashnard Talk Contribs 16:56, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. I've added the section now (some of it I've just assumed); feel free to copyedit, refine and expand. Thanks. Ashnard Talk Contribs 15:28, 26 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My honest opinion

[edit]

A bit of FE rivalry, huh?—I like it. Firstly, you done the right thing by asking me as: You should avoid linking to a website that you own, maintain or represent, even if the guidelines otherwise imply that it should be linked. If the link is to a relevant and informative site that should otherwise be included, please consider mentioning it on the talk page and let neutral and independent Wikipedia editors decide whether to add it. I believe that I can mainain a neutral point of view here.

I started looking at EED and was actually quite impressed—it was basically the definition of what an external should be: a site that holds resources beyond what can be added to the article. There was a comprehensive lists of FAQs, images, info etc. I looked at your site, and it either matched or surpassed EED in terms of the actual content (I compared it by games at first, so I compared their FE1 section to yours). What really converted me in your site's favour was two things: the "general" sction, which held an assortment of interesting info, and your Radiant Dawn section, which was surprising to have so much content about an unreleased game. As you know, EED have barely anything on Radiant Dawn. The only factor I could say that you were bested at is the aesthetics of the site—but that has nothing to do with the site's resources.

So, I can honestly say that I support the change. Just tell me when you think your site's ready, and then drop a note on my talk page, and I'll replace EED with SF. If you've got any more questions about this, just ask me. Ashnard Talk Contribs 08:40, 6 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nintendo vs. Tirnanog/Enterbrain

FE Query

[edit]

Hello Aveyn. Do you know anything about a possible Japanese naming confusion over Fire Emblem: Ankoku Ryū to Hikari no Tsurugi? If you look at the talk page, "tsurugi" apparently should be replaced with "ken" because both words can mean sword.‎ Apparently, the JP Wikipedia uses "ken". Do you have any ideas? Thanks. Ashnard Talk Contribs 18:23, 1 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cheers Aveyn. Do you have a source to confirm this? It looks like we'll probably have to move the article to the "Ken" form. Ashnard Talk Contribs 22:40, 3 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You probably imported the American version, but I'm just letting you know that I got RD today!! I'll work on the RD article to take it to GA once I've completed it and done my exams. Thanks. Ashnard Talk Contribs 20:26, 14 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
My last GCSE finishes on June 20th, so basically from then, I'll have all the time in the world. I know a source that we can use for a "Development" section albeit a small one. So basically, it should be a smooth process. Thanks, Aveyn. Anyway, haven't played the game! Why not? Ashnard Talk Contribs 14:50, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I think this is the one if I remember correctly: [1]. Most of what he says is useless, but there's some insight into development details about half of the way through. Cheers. Ashnard Talk Contribs 18:06, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Right, to let you know, I'll be working on the article over the weekend. I look forward to that source; whenever you have time, of course. Ashnard Talk Contribs 12:26, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
This is a really good source too. Ashnard Talk Contribs 18:12, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Good luck with that; feel free to correct any mistakes I make along the way. Ashnard Talk Contribs 20:12, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for doing that, Aveyn. As a matter of interest, when did you learn Japanese? It's really impressive. I'll have a look now. Ashnard Talk Contribs 17:30, 21 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Oh yeah, to clarify, is the info on your userpage everything that you could get or just what you could get so far? Anyway, I might nominate for GA after referencing the plot section because the nominations take a long time to get a reviewer, so everything should be finetuned by then. Thanks. Ashnard Talk Contribs 17:56, 21 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
What's there now is definitely sufficient. Thanks for the help. Ashnard Talk Contribs 21:37, 21 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cool Games

[edit]

I checked out the list of articles you've been editing. All I wanted to say was... dude, you got good tastes in gaming. =) --DarkKunai (talk) 21:08, 20 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I typed in ending credits, didn't I? Well the picture I'm talking about can be found in FEVI's (sealed sword) sound room. Play a couple of songs until you see a young boy next to a woman who deeply resembles Ninian. And no, she is not petting him. My mistake =). --DarkKunai (talk) 15:15, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, that's the one. Too bad it wasn't Ninian...In any case, I support the Eliwood-Ninian relationship as canon (though I'm aware this might not be the case). Most of Eliwood's sentimental conversations are aimed towards Ninian (without including character supports of course). I also firmly believe that Lillian is the result of a Hector-Farina/Florina relation, and Sue is the daughter of Lyn and Rath. Those are just my speculations as how the story goes. As of now, all I really care for is an American release for the FEI remake, and a game that covers the war preceding Blazing Swords (the one with Athos, Roland, and all those creeps). --DarkKunai (talk) 16:06, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

For all the help you've given me in relation to getting the Fire Emblem articles to GA, and for your valuable contributions to the project. Thank you. Ashnard Talk Contribs 15:30, 30 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
