Welcome!

Welcome to Wikipedia, Anat! My name is Ryan, aka Acetic Acid. I noticed that you were new and haven't received any messages yet. I just wanted to see how you were doing. Wikipedia can be a little intimidating at first, since it uses different formatting than other sites that use HTML and CSS. In the long run, though, you'll find that the WikiSyntax is a lot easier and faster than those other ways. Here are a few links to get you started:

There are a lot of policies and guides to read, but I highly recommend reading over those first. If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page. Please be sure to sign your name on Talk Pages using four tildes (~~~~) to produce your name and the current date, along with a link to your user page. This way, others know when you left a message and how to find you. It's easier than having to type out your name, right? :)

I hope you enjoy contributing to Wikipedia. We can use all the help we can get! Have a nice day. Sincerely, Ryan. 06:24, August 2, 2005 (UTC)

Aprotic solvent (redirect)

[edit]

Hi Anat! Welcome to Wikipedia! If you disagree with a redirect, it shouldn't be blanked but placed on Wikipedia:Redirects for deletion. The reason Aprotic solvent redirects there in the first place is because at the bottom of Protic solvent, there is a discription of what an Aprotic solvent is.

I hope that helps, and thanks for your contributions so far! -JJLeahy 17:59, 2 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

You're very welcome Anat

The best way to reply to me is to put a message on my talk page - that way I'll get it for sure (the "New messages" tag will be up there). It's possible I'll see it if you placed it at Talk:Aprotic solvent, but that would be mainly to show others that everything has been resolved (which they probably would have assumed).

I hope you continue with your edits, reading a little more of the links above (they've helped us all out at one point or another) and taking in the incredible amount of information here. Feel free to ask me any questions here (but I'm not sure if I'll see them right away).

Happy editing! -JJLeahy 04:21, 3 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed you appear to be involved in biology articles or WikiProjects relating to biology and human processes. This article, on a method for evaluating biological utilizations rates of proteins in humans and animals, was started in August and is in need of the attention of an expert. We are having trouble locating one and the article desperately needs it. This method is used constantly in bodybuilding magazines and products and is the subject of much misinformation and half-truths. On the other hand it does appear to have some value. Please help if possible. In case you're wondering why I picked you I just looked through some Science WikiProjects and biology articles and your name appeared a lot in one or both categories. Incidentally if you decide not to do this for whatever reason there's no need to reply. I'll just take it you're busy or uninterested and leave it at that. Thanks.
