Thank you for uploading Image:Kuzhuppilly.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 11:37, 29 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This article was reverted because the image File:Kunjunni.jpg was uploaded as a "for use in only non-commercial or educational use." While it might seem reasonable to assume that such files can be freely used on Wikipedia, a non-profit website, this is in fact not the case[1][2].

Images on Wikipedia needs to be compatible with the GNU Free Documentation License, which allows anyone to use it for any purpose, commercial or non-commercial. See our non-free content guidelines for more more information. SkierRMH (talk) 20:43, 20 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This image appears to be taken from a scan from newsprint or something similar. If it came from a news site, such as the BBC, the Daily Excelsior, or something similar, the images are all (c) and can not be used on wikipedia without direct, specific permission given - which I can promise you, they will not give. That is why we rely on 100% free use images only, to avoid copyright violations. SkierRMH (talk) 07:10, 22 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Pallippuram, Ernakulam

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Pallippuram, Ernakulam requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Pollytyred (talk) 14:00, 1 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I notice that you have contested the speedy deletion of this article. However, you need to provide a reason as to why this article should not be deleted. If you're in the process of adding information, you can note that - but, in the absence of a rationale for not deleting, any administrator can delete the article on sight. Please visit Talk:Pallippuram, Ernakulam and provide your reasoning there. Thank you. UltraExactZZ Claims ~ Evidence 14:34, 1 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for adding some context to the article. I've added some additional links, primarily to the state and region (south india). I also categorized the article and added a stub tag, indicating that it needs to be expanded. If you have references to the village, please add them. Thanks, UltraExactZZ Claims ~ Evidence 15:36, 1 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
