How do I change the offending username or delete the account altogether, since it is blocked?

I would change the user name to anything at all, but it kept rejecting all my usernames. Then in utter exasperation I used this one, sorry. Then the captcha kept being rejected, over and over, even though I’m sure I had it right. A horrible afternoon. I guess Wikipedia is for computer literate people, which doesn’t include me.

I just wanted to open the account because I couldn’t see a reading list I had created on the iPad for research and thought an account would solve it. I don’t need to edit anything but I would.like to see my reading list.

Please help me either to edit the username or to delete the account or to see my reading list without any account, which I was unable to do.

Sorry about the bad language but I’ve put the same thing on other websites like Adobe, for exactly the same reason, exasperation and frustration and lost afternoons. Alanwillisfucku (talk) 23:57, 27 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I've gone ahead and changed the block to allow you to just create a new account because I believe the blocking admin would have done the same if they were around at the moment.
