Barnstar

[edit]
The Space Barnstar
For upgrading Kuiper belt, possibly saving it from an FAR, and saving me no end of hassle, I award you the Space Barnstar!

And a second hug for all the work you've done on Planet Nine! Serendipodous 20:20, 16 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi Agmartin! I have a mystery, maybe you can help?

2013 GP136 is at [1] with q 42.15634, a 151.7503613.
If I do a search q>40, a>140 gives 14 objects, but misses 2013 GP136.

Do you know why the search misses it? It doesn't seem found at all. It makes me wonder what else is missed! Tom Ruen (talk) 01:41, 27 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

.... Solved, it was listed under (496315). So nothing missing, just have to see exactly what they are individually, or search for both labels. Tom Ruen (talk) 02:16, 27 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Fan mail

[edit]

Just a note to acknowledge your drive at overhauling the Planet Nine article. I went throught the same a few years ago with Water on Mars. It had grown an amorphous mass of repetitive and disorganized notes and trivia and data, so I indulged in WP:Blow it up and start over. Doing that to a high profile article requires commitment and being well informed in the subject. Thank you. BatteryIncluded (talk) 14:31, 21 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

A barnstar for you!

The Rosetta Barnstar
For your diligence at translating the scientific and technical language at the Planet Nine article into a comprehensible text for the public. Thank you. BatteryIncluded (talk) 22:37, 30 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

You are right. It looks like q~40AU is the limiting equilibrium for objects that tend to large a, but for smaller objects it is higher value. So that statement can be modified that as a increases the q tends to stabilize at ~ 40 ? J mareeswaran (talk) 21:16, 13 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

That would fit better with their evidence, possibly combine that with the last sentence of the previous paragraph. Agmartin (talk) 21:35, 13 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for quality articles related to the latest scientific research in astronomy, from E-belt asteroids and Nice 2 model in 2013 to Inclination instability and Farout in 2018, for passing your expertise to others, such as for Planet Nine ("detail added from recent paper"), for defining yourself by a stellar reading list, - you are an awesome Wikipedian!

Made me laugh!

[edit]

Hello Agmartin!
Your recent edit summary on 2I/Borisov made me laugh. Outgassing in arXiv article is molecules per second. The writer of science alert article incorrectly assumed "mol/s" meant moles per second and calculated a mass loss equivalent to it expelling an ice cube 20,000 km on a side every second.per second. - chuckles. Thanks, keep up the good work! Renerpho (talk) 06:08, 31 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Not notable: only has one paper about it (Marocco et al. 2019)

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
