Speedy deletion nomination of Hvkumar
[edit]A tag has been placed on Hvkumar, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which articles can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It is an "attack page", and appears to be primarily intended to disparage or threaten its subject. This includes biographies of living people that are unsourced and entirely negative in tone. (See section G10 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please do not make statements attacking people or groups of people. Wikipedia has a strict policy against personal attacks; attack pages and images are not tolerated by Wikipedia and are speedily deleted. Users who continue to create or repost such pages and images will be blocked from editing Wikipedia.
- It appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), individual animal, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. (See section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Article on H.V Kumar
[edit]There are certain guidelines and benchmarks to be met for articles on wikipedia, particularly biographies of living people. Please see the links above, in particular Biographies of living persons, and see if your subject fulfils the criteria mentioned. If you can get evidence of notability through secondary sources, eg. coverage in notable newspapers, then the article can be created without being deleted. Best, Sesamevoila (talk) 19:01, 23 October 2012 (UTC)
- Hi Aarganesh. I've restored the article as a userpage draft for you; it's now located at User:Aarganesh/H. V. Kumar. The two sources we discussed on my talkpage should suffice to demonstrate notability, but I'd recommend you submit it through Articles for creation (there's a link in the userdraft template at the top) so that it can be reviewed before going "live". File permission problem with File:HVK Pic for Infobox.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:HVK Pic for Infobox.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. ☼ 06:21, 25 October 2012 (UTC)

I've sent an email from the Author's permission to permissions-en@wikimedia.org last week dated 26/Oct/2012; the file size is 2MB. Do you want me to send once again? I can do that right now. Pls let me know. Thanks.

Speedy deletion nomination of File:HVK Picture for Infobox.jpg
[edit]A tag has been placed on File:HVK Picture for Infobox.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.
I've sent the email from the author atleast twice to permissions@wikipedia.org & have got ticket numbers/approval to load them. Despite this the BOT is removing the pictures for no reason (that too after 3+ months) If you want I can resend the email once again. Pls let me know. Tks
- To begin with: I am not a bot, for whatever that's worth. Now in all of the emails regarding this situation which I have found (for my own future reference, these are Ticket:2012112810001386, Ticket:2012110110000918, and Ticket:2012102610000571) there was no clear usable release of the image under a free license. In the most recent one the agent replied with a request for clarification, preferably by using the template at WP:CONSENT, but there was no reply. If we can get a clear release stating a usable license (i.e., not just for use on Wikipedia) then the image can be retained. VernoWhitney (talk) 21:10, 2 March 2013 (UTC)
1. Allow me to clarify please; I didn't say you're bot 2. What is that I should be doing now? Should I send an email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org in this format WP:CONSENT Kindly let me know. Thanks. Aarganesh (talk) 03:40, 4 March 2013 (UTC)
- The copyright holder of the image should send an email to that address in that format. Once we get that it should be finally resolved. VernoWhitney (talk) 20:49, 4 March 2013 (UTC)

We have sent atleast 7-8 emails to permissions-en@wikimedia.org; and this image deletion is been happening very recently for some unknown reasons; I've sent the email about 5-6 times & I've also asked the owner to send the email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org in the standard "Declaration of Consent" format. But nothing seems to be working. I really don't know what to do now Aarganesh (talk) 02:17, 19 March 2013 (UTC)
- You should not reupload an image which has been deleted because of lack of permission. If permission is received, an OTRS member will undelete the file. Since no one has undeleted the file yet, this suggests that none of the e-mails has been sufficient. --Stefan2 (talk) 08:14, 19 March 2013 (UTC)
Ok, this is what I found recently - Lalu (the original creator of the picture) says he hasn't received any email from Wiki even after sending the declaration of consent on Mar 14 2013. Please advice. Thanks Aarganesh (talk) 09:28, 19 March 2013 (UTC)
Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/HVKumar, a page you created, has not been edited in at least 180 days. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.
If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.
You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.
If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.
Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 16:44, 20 August 2013 (UTC)
Hello Aarganesh. It has now been over six months since you last edited your article submission, entitled HVKumar.
The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply {{db-afc}}
or {{db-g13}}
code. Please note, however, that Articles for Creation is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.
If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/HVKumar}}
, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.
Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Stefan2 (talk) 17:03, 20 August 2013 (UTC)
The article H. V. Kumar has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- This article is more of a self promotion for HVK and his website than anything else. Please do not let wikipedia be a tool for promotion. I do not think this person has accomplished anything spectacular that would be worthy of a wikipedia page.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Recreating deleted pages
[edit]Please refrain from introducing inappropriate pages, such as H V Kumar, to Wikipedia, as doing so is not in accordance with our policies. For more information about creating articles, you may want to read Wikipedia:Your first article; you might also consider using the Article Wizard. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. The new article which you created was, apart from the omission of an infobox, identical to the one which had been discussed in a deletion discussion. It is not acceptable to ignore consensus at a discussion and try to unilaterally over-ride it. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 12:15, 25 February 2014 (UTC)
