[edit]

Please stop attacking other editors, as you did on Talk:Magdalen_Berns. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Comment on content, not on other contributors or people. On article talk pages, you should restrict your comments to the content of the article, not your opinions about other contributors. If you believe someone is editing in bad faith, you can report them at an appropriate noticeboard (such as WP:ANI) but you must provide evidence. Making comments of that nature again about other contributors on a noticeboard may result in your IP address being blocked from editing. Girth Summit (blether) 10:31, 20 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.
If you want to make comments like that, you can do it here, or on my talk, but you're not going to derail an ongoing content discussion with that sort of commentary. Girth Summit (blether) 12:32, 20 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
"You're not going to derail discussion with that sort of commentary" - then you can't either, bully. 84.69.10.242 (talk) 12:36, 20 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Anonymous users from this IP address have been blocked from editing from certain pages (Talk:Magdalen Berns and Magdalen Berns) for a period of 24 hours for disruptive editing.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Girth Summit (blether) 12:43, 20 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
If you have any questions about the guidelines you are expected to abide by while editing, I'd be happy to address them. I've blocked you from editing that talk page temporarily while we sort this out. Best Girth Summit (blether) 12:45, 20 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
To be clear, you permitted repeated aspersions against me, but then waded in when I pointed out the transphobia of another editor, barking commands and deleting responses. You're a bully. The only question is how people like you convince yourselves you're in the right when you happily treat others like this. 84.69.10.242 (talk) 12:51, 20 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I don't really see the idea that you have a particular opinion about someone, and/or Wikipedia having an article about them, as an aspersion. It's unnecessarily confrontational, and it's not something that I would do, but it's not much of an accusation of malfeasance on your behalf. Calling someone a transphobe is very much a personal attack however, which is strictly prohibited unless it is done in an appropriate location, with supporting evidence. In other words, you can report someone for transphobic editing, but you cannot call them a transphobe on a talk page. Above, you have repeated that accusation: if you do not retract that, this IP will be blocked from entirely. Girth Summit (blether) 12:55, 20 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Is the belief that "Pyxis Solitary" is a fan of Magdalen Berns an aspersion? 84.69.10.242 (talk) 12:58, 20 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not going to continue this discussion until you remove the accusation above. Last chance. Girth Summit (blether) 13:00, 20 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, this is just further bullying. I know I have no chance in convincing you here, but I really do hope you think about this. However much joy you get from blocking, fighting, and generally wielding power over other users, I promise you is just not as satisfying as treating other people with kindness. Fostering a welcoming atmosphere will also help make wikipedia better. I hope you have a great day. 84.69.10.242 (talk) 13:05, 20 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
In my view, fostering a kind and welcoming atmosphere is exactly what I am attempting to do here, by preventing people such as yourself levelling insults at their colleagues. This project takes transphobia and all forms of hate seriously, but as I have already told you, the correct way to deal with it is to report it, either at WP:AIV for obvious trolling, or at WP:ANI for more complex cases. Reports need to be supported by diffs which will be evaluated by administrators. You are not free to go around applying labels like that to your colleagues based on your personal opinion.
Since you have refused to retract the statement, I'm changing this from a partial block from that talk page to a site-wide block, and am extending the duration to one week. If you choose to return, I hope that you will reflect on what I've said, and engage in a collegiate manner. Girth Summit (blether) 13:14, 20 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
