Speaking of the Zombie Land Saga controversy...
[edit]- Once there was an ugly barnacle. He was so angry at Vera Slepoj that she declared an embargo on Zombie Land Saga items to Italy.
- Also: during the reruns of Zombie Land Saga in Italy, a group of parents And a pshychologist named Vera Slepoj accused Zombie Land Saga of twisting the effeminate boys' gender identity by showing the fact that Lily Hoshikawa was a trans girl.
- If it makes you feel any worse, The TV stations airing Zombie Land Saga have issues with a psychologist who was pretty vocal about Zombie Land Saga being "harmful" to the K-Pop fans.
- In Italy, Zombie Land Saga attracted a lot of criticism from some parents and psychologists who felt that its presence of Lily Hoshikawa made it unsuitable for the fans of idol anime.
- Meanwhile, a psychologist called Vera Slepoj, claimed that Zombie Land Saga was causing audience to question their gender identity.
- When Zombie Land Saga was airing in Italy, there was a huge controversy due to an infamous statement of psychologist Vera Slepoj, who broadcasted her transphobic rants about Lily Hoshikawa. The headline of her article was "Kids, don't watch Zombie Land Saga, it will infect you with T-Virus", which was considered outrageous and caused so many discussions that the fans of Zombieland movies had by and large already disowned Zombie Land Saga for having the zombie idols as the protagonists instead of Columbus, Tallahassee, Wichita, and Little Rock!

- There was a German Nintendo magazine that was available to fans (in the beginning, then not, then again) free-of-charge. When doing Mega Man X they wrote about "Die hübsche Reploidin Zero" (the beautiful female reploid Zero) helping X. Zero has an Ambiguous Gender Identity but is suggested as to identify as male. But his Booblights, long blonde hair, and feminine appearance gets him frequently mistaken for a girl, and he has a lot of male admirers. Zero is insecure about how feminine he looks and feels that other boys only see him as a substitute for a girl rather than a boy. 103.186.35.26 (talk) 15:11, 17 August 2024 (UTC)
Pardon my rants about that Lily Hoshikawa controversy
[edit]- In Italy, Zombie Land Saga was blamed by some psychologists and parents' associations because of the controversial 8th episode revealed that Lily Hoshikawa was a transgender girl. The psychologist Vera Slepoj declared that the later episodes of Zombie Land Saga would seriously compromise children's gender identity, because the hot water can't revert Lily Hoshikawa into a boy unlike in Ranma 1/2. Because of this, MAPPA, Avex Pictures, and Cygames execs were enraged after watching the 8th episode with the English subtitles and forbad Crunchyroll further dubs.
- Lily Hoshikawa has always been a magnet for controversy. A lot of countries were unsure how to handle Lily Hoshikawa's gender identity when translating the show for local audiences. In Italy, Zombie Land Saga attracts a lot of criticism from some parents and psychologists who felt that the fact that Lily Hoshikawa being a trans girl forces a psychologist called Vera Slepoj to claim that Zombie Land Saga was causing children to question their gender identity. Because of this, MAPPA, Avex Pictures, and Cygames were of course not amused by the infamous 8th episode and Crunchyroll lost their rights to stream Zombie Land Saga any longer.
- Was there a huge controversy in Italy after the Lily Hoshikawa gender identity reveal fiasco due to an infamous statement of psychologist Vera Slepoj, who claimed that Lily Hoshikawa was a crossdressing cis boy in the Japanese version, while the scene where Lily was revealed to be a trans girl reminds Vera Slepoj of the Lois Einhorn scene from Ace Ventura, then she was hired by an Italian gaming magazine that was available to fans (in the beginning, then not, then again) free-of-charge. When doing Mega Man X she wrote about the beautiful female reploid Zero gets married with X while depicting Franchouchou as Mavericks, making the Mega Man X fans in Italy "sexually confused" after Vera Slepoj mistook Zero (who is actually a boy) for a girl due to his Booblights and long blonde hair in the wake of the Lily Hoshikawa controversy.
Zombie Land Saga being banned in multiple countries where the shows with the LGBT contents are illegal, has resulted in any discussion of the show being dominated by the controversy regarding Lily Hoshikawa which led Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick were not at all amused and withdrew the streaming license from Crunchyroll, which led to Reese and Wernick refusing to license the series outside of Japan at all because of the "Lily Hoshikawa is a trans girl" fiasco.
- Is it true that Zombie Land Saga was an animated adaptation of Zombieland, hence its title? Were Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who wrote the live action Zombieland movies, responsible for creating Zombie Land Saga? Does Zombie Land Saga follow the continuing adventures of Columbus, Tallahassee, Wichita, and Little Rock as they hunt rogue zombies around New York City and various other areas of the world?
- Will Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick be heavily involved as the executive supervisors for the upcoming Zombie Land Saga movie's production, to make sure it stayed Truer to the Text than the Zombie Land Saga TV series did since the main characters in the upcoming Zombie Land Saga movie will be same as in the live action movies (Columbus, Tallahassee, Wichita, and Little Rock) instead of those zombie idols. One of them (either Reese or Wernick) will also request that a lot of fans noticed that the upcoming Zombie Land Saga movie homage several animes that first aired on French TV in the 1990s morning kids show Club Dorothée in various instances, prompting both the Club Dorothée fans and the Mega Man X fans to joke that the upcoming Zombie Land Saga movie will take cues from a Mega Man X yaoi dojinshi where Zero witnessing the Maverick invasion in a Club Dorothee-themed amusement park then gets married to X during the zombie apocalypse to continue pursuing a career as a Maverick hunter?

- "The hermit wears tights? The permit test bites? Old Hermit was right? THE JELLY PUDDING WAS LIGHTLY TOASTED IN PAJAMAS?!?"
- Did Zombie Land Saga's English dub make a few rather controversial changes where Saga Prefecture was moved to the Rhine and renamed "Bonhalla" (a pun on the German capital Bonn and Walhalla), the Korosuke biker babes from Natolien spoke with a Mexican accent, the Iron Frill idols spoke in red letters to imply that they were Dirty Communists, and there were frequent references to American politics in the English dub? Reese and Wernick were not amused and terminated their contract with Crunchyroll because of the fact that Lily Hoshikawa was a trans girl... Or were they?
- Zombie Land Saga is a fairly straightforward animated adaptation of Zombieland, but what is it most known for? A particularly unauthorized English dub on the part of Crunchyroll that changed the gender identity of Lily Hoshikawa from a cis boy to a trans girl, leading to Reese and Wernick instantly terminated Crunchyroll's contract and revoked their license. Crunchyroll sued, but lost their case twice, even in appeal... Or didn't they?

- After losing their license to Zombie Land Saga, Crunchyroll produced an animated series Set in cyberpunk Germany, with two Starsky and Hutch expies who were zombie-slaying Club Dorothee-obsessed detectives, the similarities were so obvious that a lot of Mega Man X fans noticed that The two main characters in that Crunchyroll cartoon resemble X and Zero, the X expy wears blue and has short brown hair who wields an arm cannon, while the Zero expy wears red and has long blonde hair and wields a laser blade, prompting them to joke that Crunchyroll took cues from Spirou & Fantasio 103.186.35.26 (talk) 08:20, 15 November 2024 (UTC)
