It looks to me as though you encourage others to post obscene and crude messages on your user page...is that true? If not, then please revert them (or let me know that it's all right for me to). If you are...then I can't imagine why you invite such disgusting remarks, and I suspect you may be in violation of the site's policy on user pages (though I'll consult it again before I assert that you are). Can you let me know? Jwrosenzweig 01:15, 5 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Alright, I cleaned my user page up a bit. It was never my intention for it to crude or disgusting, it apparently just manifested this way. I'll make sure it's kept clean and such. Certainly would never want deface the Wikipedia I love so much. -b 02:01, 5 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. :-) I normally move right past such things, but I thought it was getting a little grotesque, even for your personal userpage and considering the fact that we're all (mostly) above 18 around here. Thanks for being so reasonable about this -- I appreciate it! Jwrosenzweig 07:04, 5 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I was the one who came up with the idea for the Stargate topics template. (But wasn't the one who created it) I think you have imporved it mostly, however, I don't like the grey and pink. I think that they look ugly toghther. Tobyk777 23:25, 16 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Absolutely feel free to change them then...or revert as you see fit. I just hated the old one, sorry. -b 04:09, 17 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wikimedia Canada

[edit]

Hi there! I'd like to invite you to explore Wikimedia Canada, and create a list of people interested in forming a local chapter for our nation. A local chapter will help promote and improve the organization, within our great nation. We'd also like to encourage everyone to suggest projects for our national chapter to participate in. Hope to see you there!--DarkEvil 15:16, 5 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Could you do us a favour and not use profanity in your edit descriptions? Thanks.Michael Dorosh 03:06, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Of course, sorry. -b 03:51, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the Newcomers help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I noticed you are known only as an IP address; that means you are not signed up. To sign up, you only need to click Create account and choose a username and password. You don't need to provide any personal information. If you sign up, you'll have a username that others can use to recognize you and leave you messages on the wiki. You'll be able to sign your name just by typing four tildes (~~~~) when you leave someone else a message. Plus, you (and others) will easily be able to see a list of all your contributions to Wikipedia.

If you have any questions, see the help pages, ask at the Village pump, or feel free to ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Bigtop 16:42, 23 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia's LGBT Community

[edit]

Hi, -b!
You've indicated through various means (a userbox, membership in a category, etc) that you are part of the Wikipedia LGBT community, or are interested in Wikipedia's LGBT related pages. Welcome!

You may not know that Wikipedia has both an LGBT Notice Board and an LGBT Studies WikiProject. If you haven't yet done so, take a look at both of them. They sorely need attention and participation!

Some things on the "To-Do List" that merit particular attention include:

  1. Identifying topics/pages that need attention
  2. Identifying problems that need addressing
  1. Adding the LGBT template to appropriate pages
  2. Categorizing LGBT pages

Please feel free to participate in any or all of these activities! And if you feel like it, add yourself to either the Noticeboard Members or the WikiProject Participants - or both!

Glad you're a part of Wikipedia - and Thanks! This invitation posted here by SatyrTN -- talk
Please remove it if you so desire.
Oh my, hahahaha. -b 03:31, 2 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Ori Ascended Being.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Ori Ascended Being.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 19:23, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:SG-1-original-four.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:SG-1-original-four.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 04:52, 17 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Canada's role in the invasion of Afghanistan/Sandbox

[edit]

I have nominated Canada's role in the invasion of Afghanistan/Sandbox, an article you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Canada's role in the invasion of Afghanistan/Sandbox. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
