About WonTon Suey

WonTon Suey is an American web show on the video sharing website, YouTube. WonTon Suey premiered on February 10, 2010 as 'WonTonSuey.' It broadcasts the life of a teenager with an IQ lower than 2 dealing with daily situations or celebrating holidays (Ex. "WonTon Gets Chased By Children," "WonTon on Valentines Day,"). Each video is 30 seconds in length except for the Season 2 premiere on February 13, 2011 which was a two-part episode adding up to a full minute. The third season of WonTon Suey was planned to premiere on September 17, 2011 with a sneak peek having been uploaded in May. However, it premiered on September 19 and no other episodes followed.

Series Overview & Production

Season 1

The first season of WonTon Suey premiered on February 10, 2010. Debuting with a two-part episode, the season's episodes were uploaded whenever the creator pleased or on certain holidays. Though most episodes made no impact on later story-lines of the series, "WonTon Meets His Twin Brother," did. The episode saw Will "The WonTon" Suey meeting his long-lost twin brother, Rudolph, for the first time.

Season 2

After deciding to split his episodes into seasons and to only upload a new episode each Saturday, the creator began work on the sophomore season of WTS. This time, most episodes came with a sequel to them or tied together. Towards the beginning of the season, it was announced that a multi-part event would be launched surrounding WonTon's jealousy that his brother was dating Miley Cyrus. The event was suitably titled, Jealousy and Scandal. The first part was uploaded March 12, 2011, the second on March 19, the third on March 26, and the fourth on April 2. The next three weeks would consist of episodes unrelated to the event simply leading up to the weekend of April 29, 2011, or, "WonTon Weekend." During this weekend, a new episode was be posted each day leading up to the season finale/final part of the Jealousy & Scandal event on May 1. The episode revealed that Rudolph's girlfriend, Miley Cyrus, was not the real Miley Cyrus.

WonTon Suey 3.0

One month after the Season 2 finale, on May 31, a sneak peek to the third season, dubbed, "WonTon Suey 3.0," premiered. The episode saw WonTon's summer being cursed by a child who haunts him. The official season premiere was announced as September 17, 2011. Though not actually premiering until September 19, the episode involved WonTon describing the strange summer he had experienced after the child had cursed it.

Though big plans were made regarding the episodes and story-lines of Season 3, it was never produced. No reason was given as to why no episodes followed the season premiere. Later on, talk of a fourth season was in the works. If produced, it would have been titled, "T.U.F.S.O. (The Unofficial Fourth Season of) WonTon Suey." However, nothing ever came of it.

WonTon Suey: The Movie — 3 Years Later & Upcoming "New Era"

On January 12, 2013, the trailer for the first WonTon Suey movie was uploaded. The film will be titled WonTon Suey: 3 Years Later and is being produced by WonTon Soup Productions. The trailer only teased the movie and showed no actual footage from it. The release date was set as February 10, 2013. However, the date was pushed to one year later in 2014. No word has been said regarding the film's plot. But, it was revealed in the trailer that Miley Cyrus will guest star. On April 5, 2013, a new background was added to the WonTon Suey YouTube page. It contained four squares, with the first three of them representing the first three seasons of WTS. The fourth box, however, shows a black background and in white text, it reads: "The new era. Coming soon," accompanied by a new WonTon Suey logo in the bottom right corner. The Season 4 trailer was released the same day.
