Currently, I work as a Senior Research Scientist in the Department of Biomedical Informatics at University of Pittsburgh.I am involved in developing, deploying, and managing of informatics supported tumor tissue banking and clinical cohort discovery data warehouses. I have been the custodian of various bio-bankingand clinical data warehouses and experienced the volume and complexity of healthcare data that is difficult or impossible to manage with traditional software and/or hardware.
I have written several peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. I participated in national conferences and presented oral/poster presentations as well as participated in panel discussions on the topic of tissue banking informatics, pathology reporting tools, and database and data management. Currently, I am the co-principal investigator for the National Mesothelioma Virtual Bank (http://www.mesotissue.org/) for the funding years September 2016 to August 2020.
I am also enrolled in MSIS (Big Data Analytics) program at School of Information Science, University of Pittsburgh. I am passionate about analytics and its use in research. This would provide me with vision, depth and knowledge required to further my career in research and apply to my current research work. I am interested in learning the advance data analytics and methodologies that has significant potential to increase the effectiveness and possibilities of improvements in health sciences research. In addition, it will enable me to learn the methodology for data management, analysis, and interpretation to improve health care strategies and provide better health to the community as well as its application in research.
