The Scientists of Modern Music (TSOMM) is an electronic music duo from Australia, comprising Cal Young and Simon McIntosh. They formed in 2006 and are based in Hobart, Tasmania.
History
[edit]TSOMM are commonly regarded as one of the most promising new musical acts to be operating in the Hobart music scene. In 2005 the band rapidly rose from musical obscurity to place second in the Off the Rock section of the Tasmanian Music Rock Challenge, had their music played on light rotation on the nationally broadcast radio station Triple J, and were interviewed as part of Aus Music Month on the same radio station.
Following the independent debut of EPs Number One in January 2006 and Robot On in August 2006, the band was chosen to perform at the 2006 Falls Festival musical event at Marion Bay, Tasmania, and more recently were drawcard performers at the 2007 Southern Roots Festival in Tasmania.
