Topic Article: Colorectal cancer
Sub-Section: Treatment
Proposed change #1 to Wikipedia: Rewrite and/or remove unnecessary information to make the section more concise.
· Delete: When colorectal cancer is caught early, surgery can be curative. However, when it is detected at later stages (for which metastases are present), this is less likely and treatment is often directed at palliation, to relieve symptoms caused by the tumour and keep the person as comfortable as possible.[18] -- Rephrase to: In general, surgery may be an option for early stage colorectal cancer, whereas palliative treatments are more commonly used in the advanced stages of colorectal cancer. [18]
· Delete: Palliative care is medical care which focuses on treatment of symptoms from serious illness, like cancer, and improving quality of life. -- The link to the Palliative Care page is already included, and the definition is not directly pertinent to colorectal cancer.
Proposed change #2 to Wikipedia: Make note of the XELOX treatment regimen. Cite a high-quality source that discusses the below regimens.
Add information: Some specific regimens used for CRC are XELOX, FOLFOX, FOLFOXIRI, and FOLFIRI. [Fakih, 2015]

[edit]Thanks for sharing your suggestions. Be sure to place citations directly following punctuation like this.1 Please be sure to remove quotation marks, but I am assuming you are using these to just demonstrate your suggested text in your sandbox.
- Are there more wikilinks that you can add to XELOX tx etc?
Your group is doing a great job! JenOttawa (talk) 18:06, 6 November 2018 (UTC)
- This first proposed change is not OK. Why do you want to remove this important, well-sourced information about early detection and surgery being curative? The second deletion (about palliative care) is OK. Jytdog (talk) 18:09, 6 November 2018 (UTC)
- @Towheeds: can you add your explanation here for deletion # 1?JenOttawa (talk) 18:13, 6 November 2018 (UTC)
- @JenOttawa and Jytdog: Thank you so much for your feedback. My goal for the first deletion was not to remove information, but to try and present it more concisely. However, I agree that it is all important information, and I will leave it as is. I will go ahead and make the second deletion (about palliative care). I have also noted the comment below regarding change #2 and the link to CAPOX.
- on the second change, there is a wikilink for CAPOX. Please fix the citation per WP:MEDHOW, and please be sure to use the {{open access}} tag in the citation. Jytdog (talk) 18:14, 6 November 2018 (UTC)
