The Red Chickz is an American fast food restaurant founded by Shawn Lalehzarian [1], an Iranian immigrant, that opened in 2018 in Los Angeles, CA and specializes in Nashville Hot Chicken. The brand is featured in QSR’s 2022 edition of “The 40/40 List,” which highlights America’s hottest fast-casual food concepts and works to benefit the industry by celebrating the brands that are leading in innovation.[2]

The restaurant offers items such as Nashville hot chicken sandwiches available in six different spice levels, more unconventional items like hot chicken and French toast, and classic sides like potato wedges and coleslaw.[1]

Expansion

[edit]

The company announced in the first months of 2022 that they have signed 18 units and have more than a dozen deals in the pipeline in Houston, Texas, and densely-populated areas in California. These locations are expected to get opened by Fall 2022. [3]

The Red Chickz TikTok account has amassed over 1.1 million followers[4]. The account is known for videos of its craggy fried chicken and sides, peppered with humor that has become a trademark for the restaurant, like aggressive sauce-dunking and assembling cartoonishly large sandwiches[1].

Locations

[edit]

The First location opened in Downtown Los Angeles and currently has another location opening soon in Culver City, CA. The Red Chickz is now in the franchise market and is opening more locations in Texas, Nevada, Arizona, and California.
