Jeffrey McLean (born 1982) is a former fighter pilot and corporate executive. McLean served as a fighter pilot in the United States Navy, and flew over 50 missions. He is currently the CEO of ghSMART.
Biography
[edit]Early life and education
[edit]McLean's parents, Don and Mary McLean, were an airline pilot and a university professor, respectively.[2] Don was also a military veteran, having flown A-4 jets in the United States Navy.[1]
Jeff McLean graduated from the United States Naval Academy and University of Oxford, where he received a master's degree. He was a Fulbright scholar and a recipient of the Harry S. Truman Scholarship.[2]
Career
[edit]After graduation, McLean become a fighter pilot in the United States Navy.[3] In his career as a pilot, McLean completed over 50 missions.[4] On his final flight in his deployment to Afghanistan in July 2010, Jeff had a "chance meeting" with his wife, who piloted the tanker plane that refueled his F/A-18 Super Hornet.[5][6][7]
McLean later became a White House Fellow in September 2017, in the Office of American Innovation.[8] In 2019, he joined ghSMART, a leadership consultant firm, where he later became president.[4] In December 2024, McLean was named CEO of ghSMART, a leadership consultant firm based in Chicago.[9]
Personal life
[edit]Jeff McLean is married to Christine McLean, a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy who served a tanker refueling pilot in the United States Air Force. The two met in high school and amicably split when they were set to go to two different service academies. At the Navy-Air Force football game in 2003, the two reconnected, and began a relationship. They married in 2009.[2] The couple have two children.[10] They live in Cedarburg, Wisconsin. In December 2024, McLean and his wife acquired the Washington House Inn and Schroeder Guest House in Cedarburg, Wisconsin.[11]
