Early Life:
When Ellen O'Grady was born Ellen A. Crowley in May 1863 in Limerick[1], Ireland, to Alice Condon and Timothy Crowley. She was educated in the Presentation Convent. In 1879, she and two of her sisters emigrated to America, where they made their home in Brooklyn, New York.[1]
