My Wikipedia Interests

My goals for Wikipedia is to help edit and just make minor necessary tweaks here and there. I also plan on learning a bit more throughout this website. I hope to accomplish to learn more than what I came in with.

Article Evaluation

I visited the Daryl Dixon article on wikipedia, and found three aspects worth commenting on:  that each fact wasn't cited with a reliable source, there are irrelevant sections, and some viewpoints are under-represented. The quality of this article seems more like a blob of information but with no real focus on what the article should be about.

In the first section of the article titled Daryl Dixon, there was a count of 6 facts all without proper sources. The only fact that had a proper source was a confirmed spin off show of the character. Throughout the entire Appearance section of this article there is only 1 citation, even though this article goes through 10 different seasons discussing what this character does all throughout this series. Even if all of those ‘facts’ are correct no one would know as there are no reliable citations.

The irrelevant sections are a bit everywhere throughout this article. The editors really seem to divert their attention to other characters in the shows instead of focusing on what the article should be about. In the Appearances, in season 9, this section was written kind of like a story, they dived deep and pretty much going into every major big event throughout that season that the characters went through. It seems that Daryl's character was kind of on the back burner.

The viewpoints in this writing are completely under-represented, whoever had written out this article to begin with seems to be a bit all over the information. In the Appearances section, which discusses each season, you find that information isn't quite focused on Daryl, but more about the other characters even if they have no connection at the time to Daryl. In the development and creation section, you have very little information on the development of this character, it was mainly just focused on how the actor had ‘really’ wanted this role.

This article could for sure be an amazingly edited one, but the lack of citations and sources, the irrelevant sections, and the under-represented viewpoints really make it hard to know if anything on this page is true. It's hard to know exactly what this character is about and their role within the series because of all these negative annotations.
