[edit]

Studying under the wing of Sun Ra’s manager and pianist Barry Harris, Bennett began playing piano at age 7 at the Harlem School of the Arts, with a focus in classical and jazz. She studied at The New School and Mannes College of Music for Classical Composition. Making her Kennedy Center concert pianist debut at age 18, she has since performed for global audiences, drawing from her background and musical identity in Harlem, playing hip-hop, jazz, and classical, gracing the stages of Carnegie Hall, Spoleto Festival, Afropunk, Coachella, the Kennedy Center, Sydney Opera House and more. While working as an improvising accompanist for modern and ballet dance classes at Juilliard, Tish, Alvin Ailey, and Martha Graham, Bennett found ways to begin producing, composing, and becoming a touring/session musician.

The Orchestra of St. Luke's premiered her original compositions 'Insomnia' and Tiny Chapters’[5], with The New York Times describing ‘Insomnia' as "a quartet in which moments of intense emotionalism are offset by amusing touches and daring scoring effects”, comparing Bennett’s writing to Jimi Hendrix's "Purple Haze".[6]

Wynne also co-wrote arrangements for GRAMMY-award winning jazz vocalist Cassandra Wilson[7], performed and written specifically for Wilson’s band, the Buffalo Philharmonic and the Seattle Symphony.

Other collaborations and commissions for concert and theater performances are with Daniel Bernard Roumain (One Loss Plus BAM Premiere)[8], Francesca Harper (La Biennale di Venezia, Holland Dance Festival) Erick Montes, Buglisi Dance Theater, and Ligia Lewis[9].

Scoring work includes the DKNY S/S 2016 fashion show and trailer, Janelle Monae’s “Emotion Picture: Dirty Computer” movie which debuted at select theaters and BET,  short documentary "LA Roll" which premiered at the 2020 Big Sky Documentary Film Festival, pianist on the "NAS: Time is Illmatic" documentary (Tribeca Film Festival) and other works for ESPN, and multiple soundtrack credits (I May Destroy You, Paper Towns).
