Nikhil Kamath began composing music in 1991. Born and brought up in Mumbai, he was trained in western and Indian classical music and has composed chart busters for films, non- film albums, tv- serials, devotional and regional collections, etc.

Nikhil got his first break through T- Series, his first film being ‘Pyar bhara dil’, with the very popular score “Banke kitaab teri”, from which point there was no looking back. Movies with popular music score include ‘Dulaara’, ‘Aaja meri jaan’, ‘Tum bin’, ‘Hum tumhare hain sanam’, ‘Chor aur chand’, ‘Bewafa sanam’, ‘Uff yeh mohobbat’, ‘Love in Nepal’, etc. The song “Achha sila diya”, sung by Sonu Nigam from the movie Bewafa sanam, broke all records. Nikhil has around 50 films to his credit, also contributing his expertise in providing background music for Hindi, Bhojpuri and Punjabi movies. Following are some of the Hindi movies: Aaja meri jaan, Jaanam samjha karo, English babu desi mem, Chandramukhi, Papa the great, Chor aur chand, Ab bas, Sauda, Jaane bhi do yaaro. Some of the well known television serials that Nikhil has composed music for, include Teacher, Thoda hain thode ki zaroorat hain, Ajeeb daastaan, Hera pheri, Aladdin, Shivmahapuran, Tehzeeb, Maine dekha tune dekha, Kal aur aaj, etc.

‘Jaan’, the non-film album sung by Sonu Nigam and penned by Faaiz Anwaar, and the last creation ‘Yaad’, after making melodious music of ‘Ishq hua’ and ‘Aashiqui’, created resounding success, followed by the astounding response incurred by the movie ‘Tum bin’.
