Power Towers Ltd., a fully owned subsidiary of JLG Industries, Inc, an Oshkosh Corporation company, is a British designer, manufacturer and marketer of low-level access equipment that is used for construction fit-out, building refurbishment[1], industrial and commercial maintenance. The equipment is used to improve safety[2], reduce muscular skeletal injuries and muscular skeletal fatigue compared to traditional work at height methods such as ladders, scaffolding and podium stairs. The company’s products include both propelled and non-propelled platforms as well a platforms that do not use electric batteries of hydraulic systems.
History
[edit]The flat rung step ladder was patented in 1862 by John H. Balsey. The term low-level access, now describes an entirely new specialist industry that first developed in the United Kingdom with the introduction of the Work at Height Regulations 2005. The term is used to denote operating in environments up to 5.5 meter working heights.
Power Towers was founded in March 7, 2007 in Leicester, United Kingdom by Brian King. Mark Richardson and Sandra King. The company grew quickly[3] and in 2015 it was acquired by JLG Industries, Inc.
