Video presentation link Census: is the official survey of population of the country that is carried out after a certain interval of time also for the aim finding out how people lives there and obtain details of such things as people age, sex and house hold

Population and Housing census in Tanzania is done after every ten years. The first census to be done out of colonial government was in 1967.the past ten years’ census was conducted in 2012 under the leadership of Dk. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete.

In 2022 census will be conducted in Tanzania for the aim for finding out the population size of people of Tanzania but also housing. Maximum cooperation among citizens is the most important things to be taken into consideration and this will be archived out through education provision and awareness creation among people.

WHY POPULATION AND HOUSING CENSUS

Because;

· Data collected are used in police making, planning and management

· Data collected are used for purpose of research and studies

· Data collected are used in commercial and industrial employment

· Data collected are used for preparing for other census such as agriculture census, establishment census, census building, current statistics system of housing

OUTCOME

There are different things that will be improved if only Population and housing census will be conducted in a proper way and if only citizens cooperate well with the government.

· Quality and efficient social services like health services

· Quality infrastructure and Electricity in the country

· Economic growth

· Improvement in educations services

· Political and social freedom

ISSUES AND CHALLENGES DURING POPULATION AND HOUSING CENSUS

· Cost pressure

· Concerns about intrusiveness and data privacy

· response burden from citizens due to some cultural belief like witchcraft

· Reduction cooperation to enumerators from citizen

· Difficulty in accessing secure apartment and enumerating unsafe area
