I was born in Melbourne. People think Australia is hot all the time but Melbourne is cold in winter. Not cold like it is in England but it does get distinct seasons. I grew up in Elsternwick that was a central suburb and the Jewish area. We went to The Mergalina's, my favourite pizza and restaurant, every Friday night on Glenhuntly Road. We then started going to the Indian restauarant. Our back garden was huge. We went to the beach in Sandringham and also outside of Melbourne on holidays. I used to prefer going to St Kilda, an inner city beach, because there were cafes so i would get an ice cream! When I went back during University I still liked the City beaches that most Melbournians think are dreadful. My Aunty lived in Mount Waverly when I was small but then moved to Parahan just off Chapel Street when I was about 6 or 7. I loved it because it was much closer to our house. My sister and I went to her house every Saturday night and we would go to the video shop behind the train line. We were so excited that she lived off Chapel Street - it was so cool! We used to go for a wander and look out for anyone famous - I saw a few people from Neighbours. I used to love Malvern Shopping Centre because my Mum and Dad hated shopping centres, I loved them and malvern was the only one they would ever take me to. My Dad worked at Hallibury Boys School - a private, all boys, right-wing school. When he took me to work with him a few times I liked it because we would get sweets on the way in the car.
