Pedro João Santos, publicly known as Prism (/prɪsm/) (previously Pedrovip, Rogerchocodiles and Pedro João) is a Wikipedian since March 14, 2008. Having been introduced to Wikipedia in 2008, he joined the community and started editing on Ashley Tisdale, Vanessa Hudgens and other recording artists' articles. However, Prism did not follow typical guidelines and started adding fancruft and other hoaxes to the Wikipedia; such attitude was met with apprehension from administrators who warned him repeatedly. Demotivated, he quit editing.

Recently, in August of 2013, Prism developed interest for music and the Wikipedia itself, thus starting to edit it. After reestablishing himself as a contributing user, he has progressively improved, having since then expanded or restructured more than ten pages that have since become good articles. Other work include a featured list and some DYKs. The user's editing is mostly found in Katy Perry, Rihanna and Natalia Kills related articles.

History

[edit]

I started my Wikipedia journey on March 14, 2008. I registered under the username Pedrovip (as corny and awkward it is) and started editing Ashley Tisdale, Vanessa Hudgens and High School Musical-related articles; also uploading non-free images. Some of my edits were constructive and improved the articles, though what I did not realize was that I could not post made-up information, fancruft or unreliable sources in Wikipedia. Therefore I was always adding such info to the Wiki, until some administrators started warning me. By the end of 2008, having changed my username to Rogerchocodiles, I started thinking of Wikipedia as a social network, much like other users, and I basically only searched for their hidden pages. I also created a Guestbook copied from another user's page and started spamming users' talk pages to sign it. Until August of 2013, my editing here was very quiet, but once I started, I did not stop. And I had matured a lot and I had read the Wikipedia guidelines in order to better understand what Wikipedia really is. For now, as Prism, I don't see myself retiring at all.
