Nursultan (until 1935 - Maloalmatinsky, until 1998 - the peak of Komsomol) is a mountain peak, a peak on the northern slope of the Tien Shan mountain range Zailiysky Alatau. Height - 4330.9 meters above sea level. From the top of the mountain a view opens onto the largest city of Kazakhstan - Alma-Ata and vice versa - this peak is clearly visible from the city.
The first name of the peak was Maloalmatinsky, he crowned the Small Almaty gorge, from which the river Small Almatinka flowed. Accordingly, to the west, approximately 20 km, there was the Big Almaty gorge, from which the Bolshaya Almatinka river flowed, and which crowned the pyramidal Big Almaty peak (3681 m).
Malomatmatinsky peak in accordance with the changing era of July 11, 1935 after the 1st Komsomol alpiniad was renamed Komsomol peak. And in 1998, he received a new name - Nursultan Peak in honor of the first President of Kazakhstan.
On May 8, 2015, Vitaly Komarov and Igor Podgursky made the first ever skiing trip from the summit along the southern couloir.
