Oromia Credit and Saving Share Company (OCSSCO)

Oromia Credit and Saving Share Company, which was established in 1997, is one of the leading micro finance institutions in Ethiopia. Besides the state of Oromia, the company operates in Dire Dawa and Finfine City Administration and Harari regional state.

OCSSCO has a mission of poverty alleviation in Oromia through availing financial services to the economically poor farmers and urban dwellers and assist them to make the best use of indigenous resources and knowledge. It is a transformation of Oromia Rural Credit Scheme Development Project. It assumed company status in August 1997. The basis for this transformation was the issuance of proclamation no 40/96 that provides for licensing and supervision of the business of micro finance in Ethiopia.
