Welcome to Files for Upload! Files for Upload aims to aid in the upload process. For unregistered users, non-autoconfirmed users, and for users who are able to upload. If you don't have an account or if you have an account but it isn't autoconfirmed (see the definition below) then the wizard will help you post a request so another user can upload it for you.
Some terms used in this wizard...
Autoconfirmed - A user account that has 10 edits or greater, and has been registered for over 4 days. To upload an image, your account must be autoconfirmed.
Free files - Files that have very little legal restrictions placed on them. Some examples of cases where files are called "free" are works from the US government (among a few other countries' governments), appropriately licensed Flickr images, users who upload files they own the copyrights to can upload their files under a free license, among other ways.
Non-free files - Files that are copyrighted, but can be uploaded to Wikipedia in specific situations under fair use. A fair use rationalemust be included with the image.
