·       Each major claim is associated with a citation, but many are outdated and from advocacy organizations that do not provide an unbiased position

Is everything in the article relevant to the article topic? Is there anything that distracted you?

·       Nothing seems out of place, but the bias in the article stands out

Is the article neutral? Are there any claims, or frames, that appear heavily biased toward a particular position?

·       Article is heavily tilted towards criticisms of the system and do not provide counter-claims

Where does the information come from? Are these neutral sources? If biased, is that bias noted?

·       Many of the sources are not neutral and have advocacy or political affiliations, some are presented as such in the criticisms section but others are presented as factual information

Are there viewpoints that are overrepresented, or underrepresented?

·       Criticisms are overrepresented, the positive aspects of the system are not presented

Check a few citations. Do the links work? Is there any close paraphrasing or plagiarism in the article?

·       Links generally work and seem to accurately portray the topic presented without being direct quotations or plagiarism

Is any information out of date? Is anything missing that could be added?

·       Most of the information in the article cites information and statistics from at least 6 years ago and has not been updated

There should be more information on the alternative forms of punishment/branches within the juvenile justice system
