RB Holle
[edit]Born 1973 RB Holle is an India-based painter. He is recipient of the National Academy award from the Lalit Kala Akademi in 2012. He got the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant in 2012 as well as received the Tata Trusts Travel Grant Award in 2018. His works have been exhibited and sold in Jehangir Art Gallery and Pundole Art Gallery. His works have been exhibited in New York, London, Ghana, Czechoslovakia and Italy.
Early Life
[edit]Born in Kasari in Maharashtra, he received education in art at Abhinava Kala Mahavidyalaya and was later admitted to JJ School of Art. He came under the mentorship of Gaitonde.
Work
[edit]His art depicts rhythm and music. His art also seeks to represent the galaxy. Frequently, his art uses blue. The colours of sky are captured with the frequent use of horizontal lines. There is a sort of a ripple effect that his art depicts as colours soak in the canvas. His art first sold at the Tao Art Gallery. He also sold later at Jehangir Art Gallery. A long-standing relation developed with Pundole Art Gallery. He won the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant in 2012 as well as recently received the Tata Trusts Travel Grant Award in 2018. His works have been exhibited in New York, London, Ghana, Czechoslovakia and Italy.
Personal Life
[edit]He is married to Yogita Holle, a batchmate in JJ School of Art. He currently resides at Nalasopra in Mumbai.
