Gio Battaglia (TheRexter1000)

[edit]

Giovanni Michael Battaglia, also known as TheRexter1000, born on August 23, 2001 is an American singer/songwriter, as well as a personality on YouTube. Battaglia is currently a junior in high school, involved in School Spring Musical, Pippin, in the Dance Ensemble, as well as the Dance Team, and the Tri-M Music Honor Society.

Battaglia has always had a passion for performing. In elementary school, he released his first album, "Football Full of Mars", a 5-track pop album featuring the hits "La la" and "Football Full of Mars", to celebrate this release, his 5th grade teacher permitted him to have a listening party for the class, as well as perform for the class.

Battaglia's influences include Lady Gaga, Demi Lovato, Sam Smith, Katy Perry, Adele, Bruno Mars, P!NK, Dua Lipa, Christina Grimmie, as well as many other artists along the way.

While not working on music, Battaglia posts videos on his YouTube Channel, TheRexter1000. Prior to this channel, Battaglia posted Blu-Ray Unboxings and Singing Covers of popular songs under the name, Dewdropixie, inspired by Pixie Hollow and the Tinker Bell Franchise, which are since deleted. Since 2012 on TheRexter1000, Battaglia posts a range of videos, from makeup tutorials, sit down chat videos about personal stories, trying new food. This had to come to a close in 2013 when Battaglia was being cyberbullied for expressing himself on his channel, but all that changed in 2015 when Battaglia realized, "No one is going to like everything you do in life, so why not just do you." Battaglia says the purpose of his channel is if he can make all the difference to one person, his job is done. And with over 500 subscribers and over 73,000 video views, his philosophy has been completed. Battaglia is partnered with Outspeak, Broadband TV, and the Huffington Post.

Recently, Battaglia has created his second studio album, Rendition, a cover album released on October 6th, 2017 featuring his favorite songs by other artists, including his hit single off the album, "The Cure", originally performed by Lady Gaga. The album was released on Battaglia's YouTube Channel, and well as his website.

Currently, Battaglia is focusing on Pippin, schoolwork, and writing his third studio album.
