After his cursus in History, Étienne Galliand joined the Festival of the First Novel (based in Chambéry, French Alps), where he was the contact for the publishers. He worked in the "School of Peace" in Grenoble, where he was in charge of the Communication department, and then at the Charles Léopold Mayer Foundation, where he set up the Intercultural Library inside the Intercultural department. Adding to his curcus a special training in publishing (ASFORED, Paris) and a Master in Management (Sorbonne / IAE de Paris), he created in 2002 the International Alliance of Independent Publishers (www.alliance-editeurs.org), and managed it until 2009. He founded Double ponctuation, a communication agency dedicated to thematical studies and e-publishing (www.double-ponctuation.com). As a non profit activity, he is involved with publishers, authors and NGOs into the protection and the promotion of "Bibliodiversity", a concept focused on the importance of diversity and independence in the publishing world.
