Err... Hello (o ye) World (which is bound to end sometime in order to pave the way for a new HereAfter)

Ponder over this

I believe that the basic idea behind the usage of references (i.e. testable evidences for any claim) on Wikipedia is the same as what has been revealed in the Qur'an more than 14 centuries back (and still holds true): ""O you who have believed, if there comes to you information, investigate (before passing it on), lest you harm a people out of ignorance and become, over what you have done, regretful" "[Quran 49:6]

To edit or not to edit

[edit]

It isn't very uncommon on Wikipedia that a lot people, when they come across an article (and realize the power that Wikipedia endows them with w.r.t. article editing :), love to hit the 'Edit this Page' button and start off with putting out whatever comes to their heads. I believe Wikipedia is not a blog or an online forum for putting up personal thoughts.
It is no wonder that the Prophet Muhammad (Arabic: صلى الله عليه وسلم allā llahu ʿalayhi wa sallam), when asked about acts loved by Allah, had included: "Control of the tongue." in his (SAWS) reply.
