Katrina Christine Melocoton (born March 30 in Manila, Philippines), also known as Mayuri Ohoshi, is a Filipina cosplayer, martial artist, gamer, v/blogger and widely known cosplayer.. She started cosplaying in 2010 by joining various competitions in Metro Manila. Since then, she cosplayed over 10 anime ,online and video games.
In addition to her cosplay activities, for which she is most known, Katrina is also a blogger, performer, cat lover and figure collector.
Personal life
[edit]She called Mayuri since high school by her friends and she taken a liking to it so Mayuri adopted the nickname ever since.
Katrina lives in Valenzuela city and is fond of video and online games, art, fashion and learning martial arts. She's studying how to play different instrument until now. She debuted in the cosplay scene earlier this year and stage debuted as Enma Ai (Hell girl) from the Japanese anime, Jigoku Shojo.
Her name was taken by her mother in a book, Katrina means "pure" and Christine means "Follower of Christ". She is a Filipino,Chinese and Spanish descent.Her parents are Marietta and Ben Melocoton and she has a younger brother, Ben (Azzy). She has joined and won different contest at an early age at MAYES Most Artistic (2008), Search for Campus Editorial Cartoonist (2009 2nd runner up), SLCV School Idol (2006 3rd runner up). She joined Campus Band and Majorette (2004), The Journalist Club as cartoonist (2007 campus cartoonist of the year, 2005 3rd runner up, 2006 3rd runner up).
Katrina started to learn martial arts last February 2011. Later on, she enrolled at Philippine Martial Arts Combat Aikido , in NAD chapter last May 2011. Jonathan Dagcutan, Jerick and Jofaith Malicdem, Karlo Abiel Caseres and my younger brother Ben was become her batch mates.
The truth there, she doesn't like playing martial arts. She just enjoyed playing it when her younger brother joined this kind of activity.
Katrina gained awards and she was promoted in higher belts. Together with her cosplay, she continues studying different martial arts until now.

Cosplaying
[edit]Katrina became involved in cosplay after contact with other anime and games. Encouraged by her friends from the forum, she started cosplaying at the age of 12, joining various competitions in Metro Manila. Her first cosplayed character was the "Hell girl" Enma Ai from Jigoku Shoujo. She cosplayed a series characters over 10 anime including Jigoku Shoujo, Code geass, Lucy Maria Misora, K-on.
