About Me

[edit]

I am an Augusta State University graduate (1998) with a major in English and a minor in Education. I was born in Orlando in 1964, grew up in Spain, England, Tennessee, and Chicago. I studied at Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois, and in 1985 entered the Navy for a 20-year career, from which I took some time off (1998-2001). I have served two six-month tours in Iraq, 2005 at Al Asad and 2007 in Ramadi. My interests include linguistics and foreign languages (Arabic and Spanish), chess, philosophy, history, and literature, particularly literary criticism and comparative literature.
