EPs (2013-2015)

[edit]

Phillips' debut EP, Ghosts, was released on DATE through Le Castle Vania's label, Always-Never Records. Ghosts was inspired by "the most intensely dark and beautiful periods of [Phillips'] life so far".[2]

On April 15, 2014, Phillips released a free download of a song, Eyes Half Closed, from his second EP Angels.[3] Angels was released on April 29, 2014.[4] A free download of Angels was also released on Reddit.[5]

His third EP, Runaway, was a collaboration with artist Ianborg. It was released in November 2014.[6]

Due to his younger brother's aneurysm, Phillips dedicated 200% of profits from Ghosts EP, Angels EP, and Runaway EP from the week of October 22, 2014 to the medical debt.[7]

The single "Neverland" from the Dysphoria EP was exclusively premiered on Fuse.tv on June 1, 2015.Phillips produced Dysphoria in a relatively short amount of time and developed cabin fever where he ate infrequently and worked 12-18 hours a day. He attributed this state of mind to the atmosphere of the EP.[8]

Cataclasm

[edit]

Cataclasm exclusively premiered on Billboard via Okami Records on November 19, 2015.[9] Many of the songs of the album were written during Phillips' trip to Bildudalur, Iceland, where he spent 65 days in isolation. [10] He was inspired by the "alien atmosphere" and natural sounds of Iceland.[11]

Phillips went on a headlining North American tour to celebrate the release of Cataclasm during the summer and fall of 2016.[12]
