History

John M. Higgs and F.M. Pickett first printed the News Examiner in 1867. The weekly edition was halted in 1917. In January 1920 the Examiner was merged with the News to form the News-Examiner. E.W. Tatman organized the News-Examiner on January 1, 1920. The consolidation of Times-News Company and the Connersville Examiner formed The Connersville News-Examiner. Paxton Media Group took over in 1999 and has current ownership. James Sprague is the current general manager and editor.
