Eve Brandstein

Eve Brandstein is an American producer, director, and casting director, recognized for her work in television and documentary film. She first gained prominence as a casting executive for Norman Lear's production companies and recently co-directed the 2022 documentary The Lost Weekend: A Love Story.

Career

Casting director

Brandstein served as a casting executive for Norman Lear's television productions during the 1970s and 1980s. She worked on several television series including Diff'rent Strokes, One Day at a Time, The Facts of Life, and Who's the Boss?.

Documentary work

In 2022, Brandstein co-directed and produced The Lost Weekend: A Love Story, a documentary exploring May Pang's relationship with John Lennon. The film premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and received a theatrical release in April 2023. The documentary delves into the 18-month period when Lennon separated from Yoko Ono and lived with Pang in Los Angeles and New York. The film received positive reviews from major publications, including The New York Times, which praised its intimate portrayal of Lennon and Pang's relationship.

Non-profit work

Brandstein serves on the advisory board of The Felix Organization, a non-profit founded by Darryl McDaniels and Sheila Jaffe that supports children in foster care.
