Ban Ki-moon Award for Women's Empowerment
The Ban Ki-moon Award for Women's Empowerment is an accolade presented to individuals who have significantly contributed to advancing the position of women worldwide through their life's work. The award, which is presented by international nonprofit Asia Initiatives, was inaugurated in October, 2017. [1] Eighth United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon presented the award to its first recipients: Gloria Steinem, Eva Haller and Yue-Sai Kan.[2]
