Harrowsmith's Truly Canadian Almanac, an annual, published by Harrowsmith Country Life Magazine, was launched September, 2007. Almanacs had been available in Canada for many years, with "Canadian" or "Canadian Edition" in the title, but they were actually American. Harrowsmith's Almanac is the first almanac written and published in Canada for Canadians.
Editor Bridget Wayland (Gardening Editor of Harrowsmith Country Life) said, "We had to start an almanac because there is a large niche market for it and the demand wasn't being met" Cite error: A <ref>
