As for my thoughts on grammar: I think singular "They" is substandard; Becuase should be used instead of "Since"; I'd say "he/she/it sneaked" or "they snuck" rather than in any other capacity; Including Split infinitives are not the difference between a good or bad writer - but they should be avoided at most; And the argument over starting sentences with "and" or "but" is not discussion-worthy.
