Why I didn't use normal wiki headers

[edit]

I used the <font size=> syntax because if you transclude the welcome {{LDSWelcome}} rather than using {{subst:LDSWelcome}} then if the user clicks the section edit word - they will be taken to the template and will be editing the template rather than their own talk page - which I thought would be confusing to them.

Thus, if we keep the current change we need to be sure to subst the text in rather than transcluding the template. Trödel 01:23, 3 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Timestamp added

[edit]

I figured the signature ought to have a timestamp so I added this using ~~~~~ – 5 tildes – however I don't quite see why just the regular four tildes could not be used as with the {{Welcome!}} template for instance. __meco 08:19, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Remove box

[edit]

Can we remove the old-style, somewhat unsightly box from around the template, and add the more standard "welcome" L2 section title? -- 208.81.184.4 (talk) 22:12, 18 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I've updated this template based (in part) on the current version of Template:Welcome. Please let me know what you think.--208.81.184.4 (talk) 18:49, 25 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
