Simplification

[edit]

This template is a lengthy and has a lot of red links. If we list all of the possible Irish/Scottish Gaelic writers, it is going to be so verbose as to be unusable. I propose that we remove all the red links (adding to some requested articles queue) and attempt to limit the template to the most relevant writers. Thanks!Alázhlis 19:51, 10 January 2017 (UTC)

I agree with this. Redlinks do not belong in a template.★Trekker (talk) 19:54, 10 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I've gone ahead and removed the redlinks. If you think that significant authors were removed, you can go over to Wikipedia:Requested articles/Arts and entertainment/Literature, create the articles (all of them are listed as "(dialect) Irish-language writer" or "Scottish Gaelic writer") and add the writers back as appropriate. I think it's still too big to be useful and propose splitting into Template:Irish literature and Template:Scottish Gaelic literature unless there are objections. Catrìona (talk) 21:04, 6 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
