Box names

[edit]

Or we should remove the numbers and give every bombing a name in the box, or we should put the numbers in brackets if other names exist. Now it is just a mess: giving numbers to certain bombings while bombings in the same city are mentioned without a number. Sijo Ripa 10:35, 29 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

very complicated situation, I don't know how to rename a string of bombings, example 18 April 2007 Baghdad bombings. For the things to be worse, there were hundreds of bombings in Baghdad, so 10th Baghdad is pretty inaccurate. Maybe to put the dates with places? --TheFEARgod (Ч) 10:49, 29 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I agree that there were many more and that the numbering is becoming absurd. A date would be better, but I fear that the names in the box will become quite long. Sijo Ripa 11:07, 29 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Reformat

[edit]

I have boldly converted the template to {{navigation}} style since there are FAR too many attacks for the Campaignbox style to be useful. Even with {{navigation}} it occupies a good 3 lines (of links). It used to be 13 lines (of links). -- Cat chi? 11:47, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

We can now better format this. Probably by year. Any objections to separate the list (with <br>'s or ----'s) by year? -- Cat chi? 11:49, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
I was thinking the same about the size of the campbox. Divide it as you wish we can later experiment with other. --TheFEARgod (Ч) 13:26, 16 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that a change was necessary, but I think that the layout of the current version could be improved.Sijo Ripa 20:21, 16 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Sure. I am open to suggestions. I would recommend an extensive discussion here before making changes to the template itself. -- Cat chi? 15:24, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
I prefer the current layout over the earlier "br"-divided one. I also like the idea of having the dates in a left collumn. (Good job!) But it is necessary to have everything on a blueish background? I think it looks prettier when the attacks themselves are on a white background, but I need to see it before I can be sure.Sijo Ripa 16:08, 18 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I like the design, keep it, but still I would like to see the template on the left (see Vietnam War, size doesn't matter) --TheFEARgod (Ч) 00:35, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think we should revert to the previous campaigbox that was used in the article because, here are my reasons:

Yes, it is more good looking than the previous template, BUT all of the mayor attacks that are listed there should be in plane view. Currently the template is at the bottom and out of view, and the previous campaignbox was right at the top, as it is we can not put it anywhere at the top unless we revert to the old one, also you said that the box was too large for a campaignbox, I don't think so, have you seen the Vietnam war campaignbox, that is most likely the largest campaignbox that exists and it is nothing compared to this one. I think that user FearGod agrees with me that everyone should be able to see planely and easy the list of mayor attacks in some way. I suggest the folowing to make a campaignbox like before BUT divide it by years within the box, 2003, 2004, 2005,... Top Gun

Ordered by location?

[edit]

This box's design is quite interesting and caught my eye immediately. However, I feel it is a bit difficult to read and should be ordered by location, thereby reducing the number of times a city's name must be repeated. --86.209.190.178 (talk) 08:50, 24 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"during Iraq War"

[edit]

the war is said to be formally concluded on Aug. 31 [1] -- bombings wont stop. so time time to change the title of the template box?Lihaas (talk) 07:00, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
