Use

This History of the United States user interest template has two userbox options as shown below:

Wikitext	Userbox	Default Category
{{User interest US history}}	This user is interested in the History of the United States of America.	Category:Wikipedians interested in United States history
{{User interest US history|0}}	no userbox	Category:Wikipedians interested in United States history

Place the appropriate Wikitext on your user page, and this template will display the userbox shown above and add your user page to the category indicated.
